Description
The musical accompaniment of a Spanish guitar and the hostess’s tray, stocked with the best Iberian ham and Manchego cheese clearly reveals that this FIESTA is occurring in Spain. The more well-versed will realise moreover, that it is taking place in Madrid because, through the apartment windows, you can recognise two of the most emblematic buildings of the Spanish capital’s best known street: Gran Vía.
Moon Over Madrid is a spectacular new silkscreen print by Californian artist Josh Agle (Shag) to be the centrepiece of his exhibition “Moon over Madrid Fiesta!”. It also serves to celebrate the 10th anniversary of La Fiambrera Art Gallery. The image features many characteristic elements of absolutely recognisable and inimitable personal style within the contemporary pop art firmament. A vibrant colour palette breathing life into intriguing situations that one is never sure how they began or how they might end. Shag, the observer, offers just a fleeting snapshot, leaving the viewer to imagine who the characters are and what their stories are.
Moon Over Madrid is a 14 colour, 100 x 53 cm silkscreen print in a limited edition of 200 copies, all signed, numbered and titled by artist, and has been produced by Shag to be sold exclusively by La Fiambrera. It’s your opportunity to bring home his acclaimed art but with a Spanish flavour, on details such as the appetizers, the Flamenco guitarist, the mid-century chair and lamps (designed by architects José Antonio Coderch and Luis Martínez-Feduchi) and of course the incomparable view through the large window. A view that’s photographed millions of times each year by locals and tourists alike.
