sergio moraSERGIO MORA (Barcelona, España, 1975)

A multidisciplinary, hyperactive artist, Mora exhibits at galleries around the world and works tirelessly to build a successful artistic career. His zeal has led to collaborations with prestigious designers like Philippe Starck, a commission to paint the original designs for the Talavera and Manises tiles that adorn the walls and floors of Bazaar Mar, José Andrés’s restaurant in Miami, and a Latin Grammy in 2016 for his illustrations for the album “El poeta Halley” by Spanish band Love of Lesbian. His paintings are found in major Spanish and international private collections, and he has illustrated a long list of children’s books and authored comics like Typical Spanglish or El niño Rock. In his recent work for the Italian firm Gucci in 2018, the artist used his signature image of Zoltar the fortune-teller.

Given his stellar reputation at home and abroad, Sergio Mora might well be considered the leading exponent of Spanish pop-surrealism. He signs his work as “Magicomora”, and each of his creations is an expression of his non-conformist spirit, questioning everything and reinventing reality to create other worlds, other visions, on stages where there are no limits and he can act with total freedom.
