Over the years, the aesthetic language of this artist, punctuated by her unique colour palette, display fantastic characters and feelings. The work captures the motion of feminine strength, relating it to being a force of nature. Our transformation as living beings lies in our ability to react to change whether positive or negative. This process of confronting such metamorphosis as feelings that generate struggle or enjoyment manifest themselves to make us stronger, wiser and more resilient.

In Tara’s case, such changes have been marked primarily by her ongoing lifelong experience with illness and the physical, psychological, emotional and social effects from a very young age. She interprets the redemptive power of love and the inner strength within each of us as a driving force for change and personal growth. Her subjects may appear to suffer but they possess a steady gaze, a determined expression and a light in their faces that generates the positive determination to always move forward.

Daydreams is a collection of 80+ works that includes drawings, figures, posters and silkscreen prints that spans two decades. The exhibition delves into the conceptual world of this strong woman, enjoying the images that have made her famous. Her diverse catalogue of work is presented under the umbrella of The Candy Cotton Machine where her very individual visual, conceptual and emotional style informs every aspect of her work..

Tara McPherson (b. 1976 San Francisco, CA, USA) is a celebrated artist in the world of comics, graffiti, and new contemporary art. Her extensive resume of collaborations include rock bands, the world of film, advertising and editorial illustration. Tara’s work has appeared in internationally prestigious publications such as The New York Times, Esquire, Vanity and Bust. The work has been exhibited in the cultural institutions and art galleries of several countries. The artists’ client list includes Sony, Microsoft, DC Comics, Warner Brothers, Swatch and Nike.
