Take a virtual tour of the exhibition now

La Fiambrera presents their Sixth Anniversary Group Exhibit since the gallery opened in December 2014. CINERAMA is the title of the show for this peculiar year that has been 2020. Dedicated to cult cinema and the cult of cinema, CINERAMA features original work by our gallery artists that they have created specifically for the occasion.

Cult cinema is not just entertainment or art. It can provoke and often appear to only appeal to a minority but the relationship to what is classic and mainstream is often closer than is often considered.

La Fiambrera’s roster of artists come from all over the world: Spain, Argentina, Colombia, Norway, Canada and North America. They’ve unleashed their imagination on aspects of cult cinema that chime with them as individuals. Perhaps they are influenced by some of your favourite examples? You’ll have to come to the show to find out. Psycho, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, A Clockwork Orange, Edward Scissorhands, Close Encounters of The Third Kind, Quadrophenia and The Creature from the Black Lagoon are just a few of the subjects that are celebrated.

Cinema is an essential part of our culture. Memories and emotions are stirred by the big screen to trigger connections to deeply-rooted cultural references. With these current times with our lives and times constrained by pandemic restrictions, we are eager to seek out things that will provide escape. CINERAMA is La Fiambrera’s visual love letter to better times that may inspire visitors ahead of a return to some long-awaited normality.
