Champú de huevo
“Champú de huevo” is a new exhibition organized by La Fiambrera Art Gallery to, once again, celebrate with everyone a joyful, colorful, and vindictive festival as The Pride is. We are joining in with an exhibition by BRANDA, the artistic name used by Óscar Brandariz, who has been part of La Fiambrera’s portfolio of artists since 2016.
It brings together painting and sculpture, depicting beloved figures from LGBTQ+ culture who long ago transcended that sphere to become icons of popular culture (period).
The artist’s irreverent, fresh, and fun style remains intact, which make us enjoy his talent and his keen observation of human being one more time. A Branda exhibition is always an opportunity to encounter the brighter side of life and we all gather around his work to embrace the fact of being alive.
Taking Spanish singer Tino Casal’s 1980s hit “Champú de Huevo (Egg Shampoo)” as an hymn, Branda’s pop costumbrismo once again places us face to face with his more playful side and the characters who enliven our lives, reminding us that no matter what happens, we should always celebrate life and never stop singing. Boy George, David Bowie, George Michael, Tino Casal, Freddie Mercury,… Don’t you smile just hearing these names? Don’t you feel like dancing? We do!!!!! Join us and let’s dance with them to the rhythm of “Champú de Huevo”.
