The Artist Biography
Asia Pietrzyk (Poland, 1980)
Asia Pietrzyk is a Polish self-taught illustrator and graphic designer who was born in the central east of Poland in the early 80’s. Her earliest childhood memories are of synth pop, black & white soviet cartoons and a ton of children’s books being illustrated by the most talented Polish artists and illustrators who were at the same time authors of well known Polish posters. The bold, playful, metaphoric and very often surrealistic illustrations encouraged Asia to start creating art on her own. Bright colours and shapes have always played a prominent role in her illustrations.
